Hi, i’m linda tran
I completed my Master’s degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in psychological trauma at Antioch University. I studied international development studies during my undergraduate career at UCLA, which led me towards valuing the sociocultural landscape of individuals and communities and how such factors can affect mental health. As a child of immigrants living biculturally, I am working to destigmatize mental health within our communities and normalize the conversations around how we are feeling and how we are affected by oppressive factors. Therapy can be the safe space to explore these conversations and ideas while moving towards healing and growth.
A few other things I’d also like to share about myself – I am a second-generation immigrant, first-generation Asian American who loves her fair share of food, music, nature, and animals. I love finding new foods to try, especially if they involve soups and noodles. Catching live music is one of my favorite joys. I love how the pastime of being with animals and in nature can be so rejuvenating, even for a short time.
My Approach
A culturally-affirmative, intersectional, trauma-informed biopsychosocial lens is foundational in my practice in which I seek to learn how environment, history and context can shape nuanced experiences and stories. I integrate humanistic, behavioral, somatic, attachment-based, feminist, and multicultural approaches in my work. I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained and believe in the power of reprocessing past memories and beliefs towards adaptive beliefs and feelings that serve you. I value taking a collaborative approach in your care to fit your needs and goals, allowing for you to move towards the choices which embody you and facilitate the authentic life you want to lead for yourself and within your interpersonal relationships can make all the difference.
